What We Believe

We Believe in one God, who exists in three Persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. He is love and that love is everlasting, free, sacrificial, and endures to the end. Matt. 28:19, 2 Cor. 13:14, John 14:16, John 14:26, Jer. 31:3, Hos. 14:4, John 3:16, John 13:1

We Believe in the sacrament of Holy Communion. It is done in remembrance of Christ’s death and what He did for us. 1 Cor. 11:24-25, 1 Cor. 10:16

We Believe that the Bible is God’s Word and is inspired by God. It is complete and reveals God’s authority for the overall welfare and instruction of mankind. 2 Tim. 3:16, Ex. 24:3-8, Heb. 8:6-13

We Believe that the fall of Adam caused sin to separate all of us from God. The only way to be reconciled to God is through Jesus Christ. Gen. 3, 1 John 4:14, Rom. 5:8-10, John 1:29, 2 Cor. 5:21

We Believe that Jesus Christ is both God and Man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin, Mary. He led a sinless life, took all our sins upon Himself, died and rose from the dead. God then seated Him at His right side where He is today as our High Priest and Mediator. Mark 1:11, Luke 9:58, Luke 1:26-38, 2 Cor. 5:21, 1 Cor. 15:3-4, Luke 22:69, Rom. 8:34, 1 Tim. 2:5

We Believe that water baptism is an outward declaration of what has occurred inwardly in a believer’s life. It is a reflection of the death, burial and resurrection that Jesus went through. Acts 2:38, Matt. 28:19

We Believe that the Holy Spirit is our comforter and instructor that indwells within us. He teaches, guides, strengthens, and empowers us in our daily walk. He is a commendable mentor, when we do wrong He convicts us, as opposed to condemning us. John 14:26, Eph. 3:16, Rom. 8:9-14, Acts 2:4

We Believe that worship is a way to glorify God. The chief purpose of man is to glorify God by loving Him with our heart, our soul and our mind. Ps. 95:6, John 4:23, Matt. 22:37

We Believe that man was created innocent, pure, and perfect, but when he chose to be disobedient, he fell into sin and lost the happiness he shared in communing with God. All mankind can’t help but choose to sin in some way; therefore all are sinners and deserve punishment. Man needs a Savior, and God provided that. Rev. 4:11, Col 1:16, Rom. 3:10-19, Rom. 1:18-32, Rom. 5:1-2, Acts 5:31

We Believe that salvation through Jesus Christ is a free gift from God to man. We receive this gift by grace, the unmerited, undeserved, unwarranted favor, through faith in Jesus Christ as our personal Savior. Rom. 6:23, 2 Cor. 9:15, Rom. 3:24, Rom. 10:9

We Believe that God is intensely involved in the day-to-day minute details in our lives, and has the answer to the needs of a hurting world. He cares for us and wants us to be a success and live a life that is blessed, so He changes and prospers us. 1 Pet. 5:6-7, Gen. 12:2, Matt. 7:11, Is. 53:5

We Believe that we are called to minister and teach all the nations. The foundation of Christ extends beyond our local fellowship, so we commit to an ongoing ministry of sharing Christ around the world. Matt. 28:19-20, 1 Cor. 1:17, Acts 8:25

We Believe that a believer becomes part of Christ's body, which is the church. As believers, we gather together to worship, pray, study the Word, fellowship and serve. Our members are fitly joined together in love and unity as one body and one family. Eph. 1:22-23, Eph. 5:23-32, Acts 5:42, Js. 1:22, Acts 2:42, Eph. 4:16

We Believe that women are acceptable as pastors. Some people believe women are to be silent in church, but that contradicts Paul, who said woman shall prophesy and those who prophesy to men do it to edify them. If you are uncomfortable, we encourage you to research the following women in the Bible: Deborah, Miriam, Huldah, Boaz’s Mother, Anna, Phillip’s daughters, Priscilla and Phoebe. Gal. 3:28, Acts 10:34, Mark 16:15, Acts 2:17-18, Judges 4:4-5, Ex 15:20, 2 Kings 22:14, Is. 8:3 Acts 21:9, Rom. 16:3, Rom. 16:1-2

We Believe that our Lord Jesus Christ is coming back again, just as He promised and that there will be a bodily resurrection of both the saved and the lost. John 14:3, Acts 1:8-11, Luke 21:27, 1 Thess. 4:14-18; Phil. 3:21, John 5:29, Acts 24:15
